Because we are a creedal community, you’ll notice that our services draw on practices from a variety of Christian traditions. Some parts of the service may feel familiar and others a little foreign. But either way, you’ll be able to engage with faith in a way that’s enriched the lives of fellow Christians for centuries.
We hold to the Apostles’ Creed as a unifying statement of faith along with our commitment to the authority of the Holy Bible, which serves as our sacred Scripture.
beliefs
APOSTLE’S
CREED
We believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day, he rose again, ascended into heaven, sits at the right hand of God the Father almighty, and he will come to judge the living and the dead;
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
HOLY
BIBLE
We give the Christian Scriptures primary authority in teaching our community of faith. Written by the hands of humans, we believe that the Holy Spirit inspired its words and guided its communal acceptance over the centuries.

Relationships
LIDE recognizes that whether they’re planned or organic, relationships are the most important thing. They are at the center of all we do as a community.

As a "fully inclusive" community, LIDE appreciates diversity. We celebrate and seek it out through our initiatives, partnerships and faith community.
Unity
LIDE cultivates unity around its mission to be the “Unexpected Neighbor” in the Deep Ellum community and with all people.
