umbrella Person
Story

Our icon is the image of a person holding an umbrella. They don’t hold it over themselves. Instead, an arm is outstretched, ready to shelter others, even if it means they get wet in the process. For us, this image serves as a reminder of the type of sacrificial love and service our faith calls us to live out every day. It’s a modern-day depiction of the Good Samaritan and what we like to call the “Unexpected Neighbor.”

THE
HEARTBEAT
OF LIDE

FAITH FUELS EVERYTHING that falls under the LIDE umbrella

The faith community (we gather on Sundays at 11 am) is the energetic core of LIDE. And while our faith doesn’t come with an agenda, it does influence our purpose – to build relationships with people from all walks of life and to be good neighbors to those around us.

We do that by serving great coffee and tea, showing inspiring art and being a safe place for people to explore the deeper questions about life, God, meaning and more.

WHAT WE
BELIEVE

Life in Deep Ellum is a “creedal” community. That just means we believe in the tenets of faith outlined in the Apostle’s Creed, the most unifying statement of faith in the Christian church. Our faith is simple and ancient and we are always seeking to understand how to practice a deeply rooted faith in a modern era.

Sunday’s at Lide

Our faith community gathers on Sundays at 11 AM. We would love for you to join us.
