In coordination with Ray Lara, Education Specialist, from Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center we are holding a “Reducing the Risk” training at Life in Deep Ellum. . This training will be about 2 hours long.
While it is required for people volunteering directly with children as well as for all Ministry Team Leads, we highly encourage all LIDE board members and ministry team volunteers to attend in order to . . .
1. Build awareness of the possibility of child abuse/manipulation in our context if ever it should occur or if ever a child should confide in an adult in our faith community about it occurring elsewhere
2. Be equipped in our context as mandatory reporters should anything within our responsibility/walls happen that should warrant such a response
3. Be familiar with a common language and understanding of how LIDE views children in our context whether in the Kids Gathering classroom or not (i.e., running around the venue space, wandering through the newly renovated workspace or gallery, walking to and from the worship stations, sitting in the Mokah lounge space or patio, etc.)
