artist statement excerpt:
Through the common language of the human face and figure, we instinctively recognize and respond to one another’s physical and emotional conditions. I use this natural affinity in my work, whether through narrative or allegory, to provoke insights into ourselves and those around us, challenge us to acknowledge our true relationship to each other, and invite us to imagine a more just future.
